This Level 2 Award in Photography is designed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge in photography techniques, equipment operation, composition, and image editing.
Delivered in an engaging and supportive environment, the course covers a range of topics including:
- Camera Settings
- Lighting
- Framing
- Digital Editing Software
This is a Study Programme and priority will be given to students who are 16-18 years of age.
To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need:
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths (or L1
Functional Skills in English and
Maths)
OR
A relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or
above (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)
If you have experience in photography please bring some examples of your work

Assessment for this course is primarily through coursework, practical assignments, and portfolio development.
Students will have the opportunity to showcase their understanding of photography concepts through hands-on projects and digital portfolio submissions.
Duration: This course typically runs over a specified number of weeks, with classes held in the evenings to accommodate various schedules.
Tutor Support: Our experienced tutors provide personalized guidance and
feedback throughout the course, ensuring each student receives the assistance
they need to succeed.
Resources: Access to additional learning
resources, including online tutorials and reference materials, will be provided
to supplement classroom instruction.
Upon successful completion of the Level 2 Award in Photography, students may choose to progress to higher-level photography courses or pursue specialized areas of interest within the field.
This qualification also serves as a solid foundation for those considering a career in photography or related creative industries.
